Born on the north east side of the Big Island of Hawai’i, Hilo at Memorial Hospital and grew up on the west side, Kona and on the Leeward side of the O’ahu, Makanui has the island gal ways of hospitality and heart.
After high school, her dad told her to “go see the world”…so she did as he suggested. Her real estate career started after a long time airline career, and a career as a legal secretary. When a developer came to Hawaii and sold land to her Dad, in which there were no roads. They had to take a single engine airplane paid by the developer in Nevada which was very upsetting to her. Maka told herself, “No one is ever going to take advantage of my family or anyone I care about and sell them real estate that is not right for them!" So here is Maka! 30 years in the real estate profession dealing with clients in the same way that she for many years believed…No one is going to take advantage of any of her clients! |

Focused, hardworking, inquisitive, joyful, compassionate, and possess a positive outlook, feeling blessed for this life. I love real estate and am excited to be a part of the Realtors family. After retiring from a successful career as a nursing supervisor, my heart and mind still longed for something. We visited Hawaii multiple times, and moving here, about 4 years ago what a great start. Community involvement included, participating in a local church, teaching medical Qigong to Seniors in Naalahu, (I am certified to teach). Formerly was a a board member on the Ka’u Hospital Charitable foundation. I have created multiple websites, and enjoy playing and creating on the computer. My husband and I love it here. I have stood in your shoes many times, being a buyer, a seller, a landlord. I have education and experience in real estate, with a heart of a nurse. |
